What is David Crystals argument ?
David Crystal is arguing that texting is a way of improving children’s writing and spelling. Against John Humphrys argument “They are destroying it: pillaging out puntuation ; savaging our sentences ; raping our vocabulary.”
People believe that the shortening of words is wrong and needs to stop. However, David Crystal thinks otherwise. David believes that “texting has added a new dimension to language use, but it’s long-term impact is negligible. It’s not a disaster.”
